Shown is the exterior of an Accessible/Universal Design Addition remodeling job that Colonial Remodeling completed recently in Silver Spring, MD. It was a ~1100 SF, slab-on-grade, rear bump-out addition to the existing house. Included was a kitchette (w/ refrigerator, two burner cook top, dishwasher, and microwave/convention oven), bedroom area with a large ADA compatible custom bathroom (including curbless shower, handicap toilet, and wheelchair accessible vanity sink), separate laundry room/closet, office area & living area. There was also a connecting conservatory with windows along two walls that opened to the main house and to an ADA- accessible deck area. The flooring was all hardwood in the living areas and ceramic tile in the bathroom and the foyer for smooth wheelchair navigation. |
